This week we looked at the Nursery Rhyme Humpty Dumpty. We learned the rhyme and had fun doing the actions. One day, we went outside to play and when we returned to class Humpty Dumpty had paid our class a visit and made a terrible mess. We all worked hard to piece Humpty Dumpty back together again. We had lots of fun learning the parts of our face and making silly faces. During play, we used blocks and sponges with paint to build a wall for Humpty Dumpty. We practiced our scissor skills in class cutting out different parts of Humpty Dumpty's body. Finally on Friday we had fun with the magic box when we watched our teacher drop eggs filled with paint on paper. We also had our very first zoom assembly with all of the school. We loved seeing the other classes and our Principal Helena on the board.
As the sun was shining all week we took advantage of our outdoor space and played with chalks outside. We also enjoyed lunch outside with our friends. I think you will all agree it has been a very busy week in Ash Class! Here are some photos of our week of fun.
This week in the Chestnut Class, we read some books and then decided we would write our own story! We shared lots of different ideas about what our story would be about and then had a vote. We decided to write our story about a baby lamb who had lost its mother. The story is below and every word came from the class! They did an amazing job.
Once a baby lamb went into a cave. He met a baby spider. "Can you help me find my mum?" asked the baby lamb. "You need to go left and then right." said the baby spider. The baby lamb went left and then right and was in the special forest. There the baby lamb found her mum.
Afterwards we made some of the characters from our story using play doh! Have a look at what we made!
A huge well done to our student of the week in the Chestnut Class! She earned the award for always trying her best and listening in class, and also for trying to involve other children in games on yard! She tries to make sure no one is left out! Great job!
We have been learning all about ourselves this week. Our names, our facial features and our pod colors. Here are some photos of us making faces with play dough and other materials.
Welcome to Ash Class. We have had a busy week settling into our new classroom. Here are some photos from our week so far. We have been getting to know our friends, exploring the outdoor play area and playing together in our pods.
Today in the Chestnut class we played lots more games and lots of fun. The class all helped Eoin draw a picture of himself on the board. He kept putting his eyes, nose and mouth in the wrong place though! After that we drew our own picture to put up on the wall in the class. Since it was raining we didn't get to play outside today but we did get to go to the hall and play some games and run around!
